Parents want to protect their children in a safe bubble, but they still need to let their children grow and live their lives. No matter how hard a parent tries to keep their little ones out of harm’s way, sadly, the dangers of the world still manage to make their mark and cause heartache along the way.

Heidi Seeman

Eleven-year-old Heidi Seeman grew up just outside of San Antonio, Texas. She was known to be a sweet, outgoing, and friendly girl. She was a talkative young lady and enjoyed spending time with friends. She was the youngest daughter of Curtis and Theresa Seeman.

On the morning of August 4, 1990, Heidi was supposed to make her way home from a friend’s house after she had spent the night with her. She had planned on walking the short distance home and knew to be back no later than noon.

Curtis and Theresa had been working in their garden all morning when they realized it was 12:30 p.m. and Heidi had not yet arrived home. Her parents immediately felt something was wrong as Heidi was known to be punctual and would always let her parents know if she would be late.
