Nicole Fitts was a 32-year-old single mother with two children who resided in San Francisco, California. She struggled financially and resorted to living in a homeless shelter to keep a roof over her head. Nicole decided to send her oldest daughter to her father’s house in Southern California so she could live a better life. However, she chose to keep her 2-year-old daughter, Arianna, with her.
While Nicole was in the homeless shelter, she met a “street pastor” named Lemasani Briggs. The two women struck up a friendship, and Lemasani invited Nicole and Arianna to live in her home with her.
