I also considered the angry wife/girlfriend angle. It has certainly happened before. I couldn’t find anything that specifically stated the DNA came back to a male. The police often keep that information to themselves. I would guess the killer is likely a male just based on statistics, but there’s no reason why it couldn’t have been an angry female.
