Bringing a new baby into the world is often an exciting occasion. A new little life is joining the family. There will be so many first and milestones a new baby will reach during their early years. While most parents relish in these moments some just are not ready to be parents and the child suffers the consequence.

The Discovery

On December 31, 2003, Amish children at the Sycamore School on Weaver Road in Strasburg Township, Pennsylvania was sent to take out the trash. It was normal for them to put the trash in a 55-gallon metal burn barrel and light the waste on fire. This time the kids were met with a horrific sight.

Inside the burn barrel was the body of a 6-pound newborn infant girl. She would later be given the name Allison.

The Investigation

Pennsylvania State Police arrived to investigate the scene. They found Baby Allison was newly born and still had the umbilical cord attached. It was determined she was alive when born. She was wrapped in a blanket. Worst of all someone had slit her throat in order to end her life. Just as soon as her young life started in this world her life was taken.
